Partnerships

The Basic Research Informatics department works in partnership with external academic institutions to bring the best thinking to bear on the data management needs of Merck Frosst.

A collaboration with the Université de Montréal, in the context of the IRIS (Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Systems) Network of Centres of Excellence, focused on developing a decision-aid tool for clustering and classification of titration curves. The project applied learning algorithms, statistical models, clustering, neural networks and modern bioinformatic modelling techniques. The objective of a joint project with the Université de Sherbrooke is to design software development measures for project planning and control, measuring productivity, reuse and software quality. These measures will be used to estimate software development timelines. They will also provide ways of assessing productivity, quality, and ultimately, cost-effectiveness of software development projects.
